The Altus Education Partnership was formed in April 2017. It is a multi-academy trust formed out of Rochdale Sixth Form College and dedicated to the improvement of education in the borough of Rochdale. The sixth form college opened in 2010 to address the significant underachievement in A Level performance in the borough. Since then, it has raised achievement in the area dramatically and become nationally recognised: the college is Ofsted outstanding, Sixth Form College of the Year, and regularly one of the highest performing colleges in the country according to the DfE’s performance tables and national achievement rate tables.

We are looking for a Careers and Widening Participation Manager to join our expanding Trust team at Altus Education Partnership. We need a dedicated and forward-thinking careers professional. You will work with the academies in our Trust to ensure our students receive outstanding CEIAG which impacts positively on their lives and careers. You will need to know what outstanding CEIAG looks like in an academy and have full understanding of all Gatsby standards with a view to every academy achieving excellence in careers advice and guidance they offer. Developing positive working partnerships with the relevant staff in our academies and within the Trust is crucial to this role and you will need to work with colleagues at each phases of education.

As the manager responsible for our Alumni Society, you will communicate with an audience of former students from all of Altus’ academies so that we retain meaningful engagement with a high proportion of our alumni through their careers and lives. You will also be responsible for supporting, developing, and delivering events and communications to alumni to maintain contact with the academies they attended.

You will play a key role managing and co-ordinating our Children’s University programme for all local school children in the borough between the ages of 5 and 14. The Children’s University is a national charity which aims to encourage children to participate in learning activities outside of the normal curriculum. The activities that children complete can include after school clubs, visits to museums and extra-curricular lessons. You will be responsible for collaborating with colleagues in schools and other key partners to coordinate the offer.

You will be expected to travel across the borough, supporting colleagues and students and delivering sessions on your areas of responsibility. You will have excellent organisational skills and will enjoy building relationships internally and externally. There is considerable scope to develop a breadth of skills and experience in this role and gain valuable insights into cross-phase working.
