Rachel Henry
Student Access and Inclusion Officer
Rachel worked for over 10 years at Bury’s Community Safety Partnership. Whilst there she gained extensive experience working with partners to implement interventions and utilise legal powers to address issues impacting on communities. Rachel also worked closely with schools and youth services to support young people at risk of becoming involved in anti-social and criminal behaviour.
For the last 7 years Rachel managed student services in a secondary school and sixth form in Oldham, with responsibility for attendance, pastoral and medical care, and safeguarding issues. Working closely with staff, families and external agencies, Rachel implemented strategies to challenge and improve poor attendance and help ensure the school’s most vulnerable students could thrive.
Rachel’s role is to develop Trust wide approaches to admissions arrangements, work with schools to drive improvements and best practice around attendance and ensure compliance and consistency in processes around attendance and admissions. Rachel will also facilitate and support panel hearings for a range of processes across the academies.
