About the Trust

The Altus Education Partnership is a Multi Academy Trust of schools and colleges based in the borough of Rochdale and its surrounds. We believe every child should have the chance to belong, to achieve, and to become the very best version of themselves. By sharing expertise and supporting one another, we help young people flourish both in school and in life.

Inclusion sits at the heart of what we do. Altus Education Partnership is committed to inclusive education for students of all backgrounds, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and complex needs. We want every child, whatever their starting point, to have the chance to belong, to achieve, and to meet their potential alongside their peers.

Academic achievement is central to what we do, but it isn't the whole picture. Altus Education Partnership also works to build employment skills and opportunities for every student, regardless of their background, including vocational routes where they're the right fit for a young person. We want students to leave us prepared for work and equipped to lead happy, fulfilling lives, supported along the way by a wide range of enrichment opportunities across our academies in Rochdale, Middleton, and Heywood.

The Altus Education Partnership currently includes Rochdale Sixth Form College (founding member, 2017), Edgar Wood Academy (joined 2019), Kingsway Park High School (joined 2022, rated 'Good' by Ofsted), Bamford Academy (joined 2023, rated 'Good' by Ofsted), and Caldershaw Primary School (joined 1st July 2025, rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted).
